Connecting Patients and Providers, Virtually Anywhere

Innovative technology that fosters communication, builds relationships, improves access and convenience, and enhances patient care.

The Massachusetts General Hospital Center for TeleHealth provides patients and consulting providers virtual options for access to the expertise of Mass General clinicians. Users of the telehealth service communicate, collaborate, and share their information remotely using familiar and easy to use tools. These tools allow providers to interact with patients - and each other - in a way that is most convenient and best suited to the patient's medical needs.

The Center for TeleHealth puts Mass General at the forefront of a national shift toward providing patients and the community high-quality, convenient virtual care options to augment the traditional ways in which medical care will be delivered.

  1. What devices can I use to connect with my clinician?

You can use most computers [Windows or Mac] and mobile devices with a webcam and microphone.

  2. Is the connection between myself and my clinician secure and private?

Yes, just like a regular doctor's appointment, your virtual visit is entirely private and confidential. Virtual visits are never recorded or shared. However, it is very important that you conduct your visits in a private location!

We know what time to be on and we just connect. I find a sense of comfort doing virtual visits with the doctor in my own home. It allowed us to achieve what it is we want to achieve. I feel like we're a team.
